Cabin is preset to Business. Change it above if you want to compare against premium economy or first.

What a premium cabin actually includes

Airlines use the same cabin names for very different products. These are the things worth checking before you pay the premium.

Seat type, not seat name

A lie-flat bed, an angled recliner and a wide seat can all be sold as business class. We tell you which one is on your specific aircraft and route, including whether you get direct aisle access.

Baggage allowance

Premium fares usually carry a higher checked allowance and heavier weight limits. We confirm the exact allowance on your ticket so nothing is a surprise at the counter.

Lounge access

Access varies by airline, alliance, airport and even terminal. We check whether your fare includes lounge entry at departure and at any connecting airport.

Flexibility before you commit

Some premium fares change free, others carry the same penalties as economy. We show you the change and cancellation rules on the fare you are looking at.

Onboard service

Meal service, bedding, amenity kits and Wi-Fi differ widely between carriers on the same route. Worth knowing on a fourteen-hour flight.

Aircraft on the day

Airlines swap aircraft. Where a route is flown by more than one type, we flag which itineraries reliably carry the better cabin.

Details we take care of

Seat selection

We request your preferred seat at booking where the airline allows it, and tell you when a seat can only be chosen at check-in.

Names and documents

We check that names match travel documents before ticketing. Corrections after ticketing are expensive and sometimes impossible.

Connections

We check minimum connection times, terminal changes and separate-ticket risk before you commit to an itinerary.

Frequent flyer numbers

Added at booking so premium-cabin miles and tier credit are recorded from the start.

Special requests

Meal preferences, mobility assistance and travelling with an infant are all requested with the airline at booking.

Fare rules in writing

You get the change, cancellation and refund rules that apply to your ticket, in plain language, before you pay.

From booking to boarding

A premium ticket is usually booked well in advance. Here is what happens between paying and flying.

At booking

Confirmation and reference

E-ticket, airline booking reference and full itinerary by email, with your fare rules attached.

1 month before

Schedule check

If the airline has moved your flight, we tell you and explain your options. Long-haul schedules change more often than people expect.

1 week before

Trip reminder

A reminder with your times, terminals, baggage allowance and anything you still need to do, such as visa or entry requirements.

24 hours before

Check-in opens

We remind you when online check-in opens and how to reach it. Seats sometimes free up at this point.

On the day

Reach a specialist

If something goes wrong at the airport, call us and we will help you understand your options and contact the airline.

Common questions

Is business class cheaper if I book earlier?
Usually, but not always. Premium cabins are released in fare buckets and a later release can undercut an earlier one, particularly on routes with lots of competition. We can watch a route for you if your dates are flexible.
Can I use miles or upgrade an existing ticket?
Award seats and upgrades are handled directly by the airline through your frequent flyer account. We book paid fares, so that is one you will need to do with the airline.
What happens if the airline changes my aircraft?
The airline decides aircraft assignment and can change it at any time, including on the day. If a change affects your cabin, we will tell you what the airline is offering and help you decide.
Can I change the dates after booking?
It depends on the fare rules on your specific ticket. Tell us the new dates and we will submit the request to the airline. The airline decides whether the change is allowed and what it costs.
Do you charge a fee?
A service fee may apply and it is always shown as a separate line before you authorize payment. You will never see it added afterwards.
